AUTHENTIC ITALIAN DISHES CRAFTED WITH LOVE
MEET OUR CHEF
Originally from Campania, Italy, Antonio Masiello was the first chef to introduce gnocchi as a main course in New York City and the first to craft it using locally sourced Idaho potatoes, handmade in-house. Now, he is bringing his vision to the Upper East Side with a fresh, elevated concept.
OUR STORY
From Caserta to the Upper East Side — a culinary story rooted in family, tradition, and reinvention.
The story of Gnocchi House Bar begins in the southern Italian town of Caserta, where Chef Antonio Masiello first fell in love with cooking in his mother and grandmother’s kitchen.
From a young age, he learned that gnocchi wasn’t just food—it was an act of love, patience, and artistry.
Since 1978, Antonio has been immersed in the culinary world, shaping his career through decades of experience, family recipes, and a passion for modernizing tradition. His journey spans successful restaurant concepts that celebrate the richness of Campanian cuisine, always grounded in authenticity and innovation.
Now, with Gnocchi House Bar in the Upper East Side, Chef Antonio brings that legacy to life in a refined, modern Italian experience—where handmade gnocchi takes center stage, paired with curated wines and warm hospitality inspired by home.
